Testimonial for ‘Mathbase’ Resources

I recently joined The Learning Trust in Hackney as Secondary Mathematics Consultant. In my previous role, as Head of Mathematics at Haggerston School, I found the Mathbase resources very useful. The department felt that the programmes addressed the numeracy skills we needed to build and found them particularly useful with lower ability pupils. The programmes, once installed, are easy to use and pupils were able to set targets of increasing difficulty for themselves. The interactive materials helped to build confidence and developed independence – very often we would have pupils reserving computers at lunch times to work on Mathbase. They also helped pupils to achieve specific curricular targets (e.g. improving understanding of multiplication tables, division, reading clocks).

Mathbase is a resource which helps to motivate pupils at KS2 and KS3. The graphics are good and pupils like the instant feedback it offers.
